Unclutter overview

Unclutter is a new handy place on your desktop for storing notes, files, and pasteboard clips. To open the pocket, simply move your mouse to the very top of screen and scroll down. Drag items from other applications to the top of screen to store them in Unclutter.

Being just one easy gesture away, Unclutter becomes a surprisingly helpful and convenient tool--in fact, 3 tools in 1--which will make you feel more comfortable and powerful on your Mac.

What's new in version 2.2.16

Fixed: Unclutter Files freezing on launch and during use when your storage folder is in iCloud Drive (or another cloud drive). Previously, Unclutter waited for these files to fully download to disk — this is no longer required.
Fixed: On macOS 26 Tahoe, the text editor (Notes/Clipboard) should no longer leave a trace of the last line when deleting lines.
Improved: Unclutter window positioning to better adapt to menu bar settings and the notch on MacBook.
Improved: Deleting an empty note no longer requires confirmation.
Minor polish and improvements across the app for smoother operation.

Somebody called it brilliant, so I too call it Brilliant ! and very useful. But it consumes quite a bit of memory, around 280mb. GraphicConverter is just above with 380mb. Top of the list. Eugene (developer), can anything be done about this ??

I just discovered this app as I was contemplating ways to simplify my new 13" MacBook Pro desktop. During the last decade, I've been going down from 17" then 15" and now this. I had been using an ancient version of Launchbar for its clipboard history function which still worked. I also use an ancient copy of Yojimbo for notes, but this is much better for the kind of quick notes I jot down during the day. However the ability to put my various desktop items in the Files module is what brought me to the app and implementation is brilliant. Design and operation are both very well thought out, and the developer seems to be keeping current with all the new MacOS software and M1 hardware. It's hard to find excellent software like this any more.

Unclutter is brilliant, I have no idea why it took me this long to try it. Notes saves opening my favourite text editor again and again, it’s lightweight and it’s just there, ready to go. I’m using Alfred’s clipboard alongside Unclutter’s clipboard with no problems so far. Unclutter makes it easy to edit clippings. Files has replaced Yoink.
